This is a great cookbook whether or not you like to cook. There are three things about it that make it stand out from other cookbooks.
- It's divided into two sections: one with more advanced recipes, the second with tasty but less difficult options. As long as you enjoy cooking, nothing in the "advanced" section will be too hard, but everything sounds delicious. If you don't like cooking, or if you have no experience, the "easy" section of the book has low-maintenance recipes (sometimes including prepackaged ingredients to speed the process). In both sections the directions are very clear - since they were written by someone who doesn't like to cook, the directions are fairly idiot-proof!
- It comes in black and white and full-color versions so you can buy it whatever your budget is - I think that's awesome!
- Every recipe is accompanied by a little story about the food - I sat down and read this book cover to cover. Jodi is so funny, and it's very enjoyable to just read the anecdotes about the food - and then there are recipes! It's pretty great."
